'IMCAS 2025 Innovation Tank Session' and answered questions from experts.

he IMCAS World Congress 2025, a premier event in dermatology, plastic surgery, and aging science, commenced on January 30, 2025, in Paris. This annual gathering brings together experts and companies to share the latest advancements and strengthen professional networks.

Held annually, this event brings together experts in dermatology, plastic surgery, and aging science, as well as companies specializing in medical aesthetic devices. It serves as a platform for sharing the latest insights in medical aesthetics while strengthening professional networks within the industry.

In particular, the 'Innovation Tank Session,' held on the event's second day, was a highlight session that garnered significant attention this year as well. This session featured live presentations from globally recognized innovative MedTech companies that had been selected based on their proven technological capabilities and product excellence.

Among the 13 finalists, JSK Biomed was the only Korean company to be selected, further elevating the status of Korea's aesthetic medical industry. CEO Jinwoo Jeon introduced the innovative technology behind the company's flagship product, MiraJet, on-site, receiving enthusiastic applause from the audience.

MiraJet is the world's first needle-free injector that administers medication without the use of needles. It utilizes high pressure generated when a laser interacts with water to eject the drug from the nozzle, transforming it into a jet stream that delivers an accurate and uniform dosage to the targeted skin layer. This breakthrough technology significantly reduces the pain and fear commonly associated with traditional syringes. Additionally, since it does not use needles, it eliminates the risk of infection while enabling precise drug delivery, making it a highly sought-after innovation in the aesthetic medical field.

Experts at the event expressed amazement at MiraJet's ability to deliver medication deep into the skin precisely-without using needles. Many engaged in discussions with CEO Jinwoo Jeon, asking numerous questions about the technology.

Explaining the motivation behind MiraJet's development, CEO Jinwoo Jeon stated, “Our skin is composed of fragile tissue layers, and even for skilled professionals, it is tough to evenly distribute a precise amount of medication into the dermis using a needle”. He emphasized, “Beyond the pain and fear that patients experience with needles, the risk of infection and other complications cannot be ignored either”.

In contrast, MiraJet targets the dermis without using needles, uniformly delivering even the smallest amounts of medication. Thanks to this advantage, it can be effectively utilized in various anti-aging and skin improvement treatments, including scar reduction, stretch mark treatment, and overall skin rejuvenation.

Since its launch in 2020, MiraJet has sold approximately 200 units and has recently expanded into the Japanese market. This year, the company plans to expand its global reach into Asia, the Middle East, and Europe.

CEO Jinwoo Jeon stated, “We plan to expand our business into the beauty device and home care device sectors in the future”. He added, “Currently, 30 Key Opinion Leaders(KOLs)-dermatologists using MiraJet-are actively engaged in South Korea. Moving forward, we hope to see more doctors join this network to help establish a safer usage environment for MiraJet”.

Meanwhile, 13 companies were selected as innovative MedTech enterprises for this year's Innovation Tank Session, including JSK Biomed-the only Korean company to make the list-along with Acorn Biolabs, DelNova, and Huvi. An on-site panel of judges will determine the final rankings, with the most outstanding company receiving the Innovation Award of the Year.
