COSMAX Group affiliates COSMAX NBT and COSMAX BIO have more than doubled their combined monthly production capacity for snack-type health functional foods, such as jellies and liquid sticks, from 21 million to 47 million units, as part of an equipment investment aligned with the global "snackification" trend.

COSMAX NBT, COSMAX BIO Double Monthly CAPA

COSMAX Group announced on the 15th that its health functional food ODM affiliates COSMAX NBT and COSMAX BIO have more than doubled their combined monthly production capacity (CAPA) for snack-type formulations such as jellies and liquid sticks this year, from 21 million units to 47 million units.

New Equipment Drives Production Efficiency

COSMAX NBT added a 12-line system to its back-seal stick packaging line, roughly doubling efficiency compared with the previous 5-line setup, raising monthly CAPA from 15 million units to about double that figure. The company also installed new forming and filling equipment on its gummy manufacturing line. COSMAX BIO expanded its liquid-stick fillers from one to three units, tripling its monthly CAPA from the previous 6 million units.

The capacity expansion is a preemptive response to the spread of the "snackification" trend reshaping the global health functional food market.

Liquid, Jelly and Gummy Sales All Rise

For the combined Korean operations of both companies in the January–March period, liquid-stick formulation sales rose 37% year-on-year to 32.9 billion won, while jelly formulation sales grew 51% to 13.4 billion won. Gummy formulation sales surged 238% to 4.4 billion won over the same period.

Export Performance Also Surges

COSMAX NBT's first-quarter export sales rose 47% year-on-year to 39.9 billion won, contributing to a record quarterly revenue of 93.3 billion won. Operating profit jumped more than tenfold to 10.3 billion won over the same period. COSMAX BIO's export sales also grew 26% to 7.1 billion won.

New Formats to Debut at HNC 2026

A COSMAX Group official said, "Snackification is a key trend reshaping the global health functional food market," adding that "by expanding snack-format CAPA and leveraging differentiated material technology, we will respond more broadly to diverse development needs from customers at home and abroad."

COSMAX NBT and COSMAX BIO will take part in HNC 2026, Asia's largest health functional food expo, held in Shanghai, China from the 15th to the 17th, where they will showcase snack-format products along with the ultra-small tablet brand "a:dam™" and PDRN ingredient solutions.
